Wake Up, Banana, Coffee, Cocoa, Salted Smoothie

It is no secret that chocolate and sea salt are a good match but coffee and sea salt are an excellent pairing too. I try to make one of these smoothies at least twice a week for an energy boost and hit of the good stuff. I say try, it really takes little effort at all. It is quick to prepare and delicious to enjoy.

Ingredients

| Serves 1-2 |

  • 1 banana, frozen (do this the night before, peel it and break it into pieces and palce into a container or freezer bag)

  • 2 nuggets of frozen spinach, or a handful of fresh spinach

  • 200ml milk of choice (I use oat or almond)

  • 1 heaped tsp freshly ground coffee, or a shot of espresso

  • 1 tsp cocoa powder

  • ½ a tsp Maldon salt plus extra to serve

  • 1 date optional*, if you like a bit of sweetness

  • 1 scoop plant based protein powder optional*

 Method

  • Place all of your smoothie ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and finish with a sprinkling of Maldon salt.
